This article does not accurately reflect the exhibition with many mistakes strewn throughout. The title of the article, "POUR is not a cross between digital media and 'old school'", suggests an emphasis on the digital in process whereas that is only true of some of the artists. POUR on a whole is an exhibition displaying unconventional methods of painting by means of pouring, smearing, dripping, etc. and not simply painting with a brush. The whole exhibition uses an abundance of control, so the comment "POUR, does away with this control" is not accurate. That also does not correspond to the quote in the next paragraph saying "instead choose to pour the paint onto their medium and guide the flowing paint after the fact". If they're guiding it that comes with control and a knowledge of their medium (also in the paragraph above that, the term medium is used when the term surface would be more appropriate). Next, the writer's name is Tyler Emerson-Dorsch, not Evelyn Tyler-Dorsch and the artists in the symposium were not listed. Another thing is several quotes were misquoted and/or taken out of context. Last comment – it's a catalogue, not an art book. We understand that art terminology can be confusing if you are not familiar and so would encourage you to do extra research & check your facts next time you publish an article as these misquotes and misinformation could potentially tarnish the University Galleries' reputation (which is the proper name, by the way).
